“The future has no power over the present mind unless you surrender it”

NEWS

Welcome back friends! Ohhhh buddy…something big is coming. We’re always looking for ways to make Red Woods Fitness more than just a place to work out. We want events. We want experiences. We want reasons for people to come together, compete, cheer each other on, and have some fun. And lately, we’ve been kicking around an idea that could be one of our biggest yet. A Strongman Invitational! We are in the early stages of planning the first ever Red Woods Fitness Strongman Invitational. The idea is simple: Bring together some of the strongest local athletes we know. Give them a stage. Build events around classic strongman movements. Crank the music, get people watching, film the whole damn thing, and create a day that feels less like a normal competition and more like a showcase.

Think stones and carries and presses, odd objects, big personalities, bigger lifts, and a whole lot of energy. There are still plenty of details to work out, so we are not announcing anything official just yet but I wanted to put it on your radar. Because when we do this, we want to do it right- and we want the Red Woods Community there for it.

In the Meantime… New Gear! We have a new piece of Red Woods gear available for presale now. Our latest hat is up for preorder. If you want one, get your order in through the presale link below:

PREORDER NEW HAT

As always, when you wear Red Woods gear, you are supporting a small, locally owned gym and representing this Community outside the walls of the building. We appreciate that more than you know. So grab a hat, keep training, and stay tuned…because we may have some very heavy things to lift very soon.

PROGRAMMING

New week, new month, new cycle. OHS, Close Grip Bench Press, Power Snatch, Push Press, Chin-ups. These moves build the foundation for our olympic lifts and will be presented in a classic 5/3/1 format. Take these things seriously folks. A little word on scaling too- if you can’t overhead squat that couldn’t be more fine…front squat this cycle. Close grip bugs your shoulder? Hit some dumbbells instead. Finally, chin-ups are a great way to get to your first pull-ups so do what you can with what you got!
