Welcome back friends! Welcome to a new month at the FUN gym. This Thursday I turn 40 (most of you guys know since I have not shut up about dreading it for a while now). I started this place when I was around 25, damn…so I figured I would spend some time this week discussing the biggest lessons I have learned along the way. 

ENJOY THE PROCESS- first and foremost you need to fall in love with the process and not just the proceeds. I have stepped down off of many first place podiums only to realize I was still unhappy. The body fat percentage or the trophy means next to nothing. It is never the abs- it’s the person you become to get the abs that matters. The same is true in this business- if you want lasting success and not just flash in the pan then fade out failure, you must fall in love with every aspect of the process. I love Coaching, but I LOVE owning this business. I love programming the website and writing these blogs and even fighting with the credit card companies in some sick way. Enjoy the process and the journey is so much better.

Drink and sleep like a human. Stay hydrated, pound like half a liter of water the second you wake up and your life changes for the better. Also, don’t drink your calories. Eating is too good to spend macros on soda or CapriSun. Sleep 7-9 hours a night. Go to bed and wake up around the same time each day. If you have to stay up late, do something that is absolutely worth it. 

Eat well. Gram of protein per pound of body weight. I prefer meat. If you are on a diet that makes you feel like you NEED a cheat meal once a week then you’re doing it wrong. Meat, fruits and berries, eggs, Greek yogurt, white rice, sweet potatoes, black coffee. 

Walk. A lot. Lift heavy things often. Learn new skills. Move through the world and through each day like you own it. Spread joy.
