“The best way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”

NEWS

Welcome back friends! For this week’s Blog I am so excited to announce our Punk Rock Run Club: A New Way to Run, Connect, and Clear Your Head

I have always believed that fitness is about more than just workouts. It is about Community, mental health, and creating spaces where people feel supported. That is exactly why we are excited to introduce something new: the Punk Rock Run Club. This is not your typical run club. There are no expectations around pace, experience, or performance. The goal is simple. Show up, move your body, and be part of something real.

The Punk Rock Run Club is built around the idea that running can be a powerful tool for mental health. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, or just the weight of a busy life, getting outside and moving can make a real difference. Doing it alongside other people who are there for the same reason makes it even more meaningful.

We created this run club to bring people together in a way that feels different. It is about music, energy, and Community. It is about running with a group that encourages you, not one that judges you. It is about creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, whether you are a seasoned runner or someone who has never run a mile before.

The club will meet at Heritage Park in Mount Sinai and will serve as a way to build momentum leading into our annual Punk Rock Run event. More importantly, it is a way to create consistency, connection, and a sense of belonging throughout the year.

This initiative is also closely tied to the mission of the North Shore Youth Council. Supporting mental health and creating positive outlets for people, especially young people, is at the core of what we do. The Punk Rock Run Club is another step in that direction.

If you are looking for a way to get active, meet good people, and take care of your mental health, this is for you. You do not need to be in shape. You do not need to know anyone. You just need to show up.

To stay up to date on run times, events, and community updates, follow the Punk Rock Run Club on Instagram. This is where we will be posting all details, sharing highlights, and building the community online as well as in person.

This is just the beginning. We are building something that we hope becomes a staple in the community, and we would love for you to be part of it.
